Milestones of AMINO's history

1958: Foundation of AMINO. The task of the enterprise is to manufacture amino acids and other active substances from renewable raw materials. These substances are at first used in food applications.

1980: AMINO starts the production of pharmaceutical amino acids. The firm's first product is L-leucine.

2006: In the framework of a Management-Buy-Out the AMINO GmbH is restructured. Thus important conditions are set to develop the company into a globally active provider of high quality amino acids and similar substances. In order to offer a wide range of products for the global market, AMINO promotes the use of first class technology such as extraction and purification as well as biotechnological fermentative procedures.

2008: AMINO completes and extends its range of products. It installs a second production line and is able to adopt new procedures and to double its capacities.

2011: In order to optimize the flow of material and the organizational processes in Frellstedt, a new pre-production and a new raw material warehouse is established.

2012: As part of the restructuring a new warehouse for finished products is built.

2012: The strong growth of the enterprise makes an extension of our production capacities necessary. AMINO therefore acquires the remaining buildings of the former sugar refinery in Frellstedt and converts them into production units.
